1941 born in Gomaringen.

apprenticeship as a pattern maker.

1961 occupational re-training as an insurance salesman.

1966- 1974 branch manager of a bank in conjunction with his broker’s office.

1971 start of his activities as an art exhibitor at his bank branch.

1973 establishment oft the Schlosshofgalerie Kisslegg, Allgäu.

1975- 1985 art director of the municipal art gallery of Bad Waldsee.

1975–1979 organiser oft he winter academy at Schloss Kisslegg.

1977 opening of a broom museum in Kisslegg

1978 start of art fair participations: Internationaler Kunstmarkt Köln und Düsseldorf

Art Basel, Art Cologne, Art Straßbourg, Art Bergamo.

1980 -1997 gallery branch in Lindau.

1985 relocation of his headquarters from Kisslegg to Schloß Mochental near Ulm. The baroque castle has 2.800 sqm of exhibition space.

since 1985 granting of the Franz-Joseph-Spiegler art prize of the gallery Schloß Mochental to artists

1999 opening of a gallery branch in Karlsruhe.

2003 foundation of the international art fair art-KARLSRUHE in collaboration with the Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH.

2008 opening of a new gallery space near the castle of Karlsruhe.

2011 40th gallery anniversary.
